På Island saknas personal som kan hjälpa äldre till rehabilitering och träning i hemmen. De har därför skannat av den europeiska marknaden efter en digital tjänst som kan hjälpa dem att klara av vårdbehovet.
Och valet föll på Habbie.
"With a growing number of elderly citizens, there will be an increased demand for home care services. This demographic change makes it a must to expand the city‘s services to meet the needs of this demographic group. The aim is for people to stay in their own homes longer – with good quality of life", säger Styrmir Erlingsson, Managing Director på Digital Service Center i Reykjavik.
En viktig faktor när de letade efter bäst möjliga tjänst var användarvänligheten.
"Habbie is very user friendly and that is exactly what we need for our clients in home care, and staff of course also" säger Laufey Dóra Áskelsdóttir, Project Manager på Welfare Technology Department.
En annan utmaning som vi i Sverige delar med Island är vintervädret. Det är därför helt nödvändigt för vården att kunna erbjuda träning där människor bor.
"One other challenge in Reykjavik is the weather during winter. It can be difficult and sometimes impossible for the client to do some physical activity outside or go to the gym or to a physiotherapist", avslutar Auður Guðmundsdóttir, Team Leader på Service Center for Telehealth.
